A personal introduction - Differentiation through Innovation

With over 20 years in luxury real estate and a background as a former Wall Street finance attorney, I bring a rare combination of strategic insight, negotiation expertise, and a deep appreciation for design-forward properties. A Passion for Unique Homes

My love for extraordinary architecture is personal. I grew up in Europe, surrounded by historic estates, and lived in a folly—an ornamental architectural statement. Over the years, I’ve curated my own collection, from an award-winning contemporary home in Portugal to a medieval tower in the Perigord region in South West France and, most recently, Tufts One, a 1905 Bernard Maybeck masterpiece in Marin County. This lifelong passion for distinctive design informs how I market, position, and project the uniqueness of every home I represent.

My Most Recent Project

Bernard Maybeck’s Tufts One

This year myself and my partner are celebrating the purchase of Tufts One; a 4,000 square foot Bernard Maybeck original home in the hills of San Anselmo in Marin. Built in 1905 for a successful dentist, this was the first of three unique properties commissioned by Tufts through Maybeck. It is a stunning example of the arts and crafts movement at the turn of the last century. Maybeck had just returned from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and created this home as an example of what he called Hillside Living. Maybeck taught and mentored Julia Morgan. Of course, Maybeck would go on to create the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exhibition and Julia would pick up the commission for William Randolph Hearst’s world renown San Simeon Hearst Castle.

I share my own journey with you because your advisor should be:

  • aware of what constitutes rare properties;
  • familiar with preparing such homes for market;
  • have expertise in the pricing of such homes; and
  • above all, have the communication channels to reach these discerning buyers.

Who Is Also an Attorney Why?

Negotiation Skills

Less than 2% of Real Estate Agents have taken any formal training in negotiation. As an attorney in practice for 10 years it was a core element of my skill set – it had to be.

Protection from Liability

Poorly compiled property disclosures are a huge danger for a seller. Especially at a price-point where buyers may well have an attorney on retainer. What is the point in attaining a record setting sales price if the buyer ultimately comes back in litigation with a claim against you?

Finesse not Grand-Standing

A mature and sophisticated approach to negotiation will result in better outcomes. Keeping a transaction together while standing firm on the Sellers position takes great skill.

Attention to detail

Disclosure packages, marketing programs, offer negotiation, contingency removal negotiation and escrow management require an unwavering focus and attention to detail.

Equality of Skills

Buyers coming in from overseas are frequently represented by attorneys. Furthermore, many overseas Buyers have cultural misgivings in working with “Sales People”.
